Chordophone - Lyre - Plucked

This lyre, made from a gourd resonator has two projecting arms that support the cross bar to which the strings are attached. The lyre was played across the lap with the projecting arms parallel to the ground. The strings were plucked by the player’s fingers on both sides. This Ethiopian Kisser has eight strings with pegs in cross bar.
