This symbolically hand-carved double-bell comes from eastern Nigeria. Traditionally it is a tool used by herbalists and in masquerade dances. In herbalist shrines the herbalist's servant may rattle the Kpoko-Kpoko as the herbalist consults an Oracle during his prayer for someone. Field collected - see provenance.
