Idiophone - Struck Directly - Wooden Bell

Bakongo double bell with opening at both ends and a tied string holding in two wooden clappers. The face is simple and powerful with scarification on forehead and cheeks, recessed eyes, broad nose, "0" mouth, and pointed chin. Possible a divination instrument. Age cracks are clearly visible in picture.
