This Korean "Changgo" is a hour-glass shape, double headed, rope tension drum, made of paulownia wood. It is the most widely used drum in the traditional music of Korea. There are two kinds of beating sticks (chae), namely gungchae and yeolchae. The gungchae is shaped like a mallet with a round head. The yeolchae is always made from bamboo.
