Philadelphia, PA
United States

German Silver
ca. 1860-70's

Custom made SARV (string-action-rotary valve) Bb trombone for John T. Nathans, by William Seefeldt. Made to play in both "high pitch" and "low pitch" due to a set of original tubes that slide over the main tuning slide to length or shorten it. Provenance: Eric Tottman, followed by Joel Jay Cribbs. This horn was used in a civil war reenactment brass band -- The 46th Pennsylvania Regiment Band, from Altoona, PA.
