D.C. Hall

David C. Hall was an earlier keyed bugler player and band-leader, who in 1861 joined Joseph Lathrop Allen in the production of rotary valve Band Instruments. In 1862 he established independently as "D.C. Hall." In 1865-1869 he partnered with Benjamin F. and George W. Quinby as "Hall & Quinby" (see Hall & Quinby Upright Alto Horn in this collection). This TARV cornet is of the Civil War period. Provenance: Dr. Paul and Ernestine Kirk.
