African slit drum in the form of a man, from the Bakongo (also referred to as the Congolese), in Congo. This hand carved drum from wood, with color pigments is played with the figurative wooden stick attached to a string. The Bakongo are a Bantu ethnic group who live along the Atlantic coast of Africa from Pointe-Noire (Republic of Congo) to Luanda, Angola. Skilled carving possibly for art market.
