China

Bronze
ca. 475 BC-221BC

Height: 36cm; Diameter at widest: 15cm

This is a wonderful Warring States musical instrument. There is a steer standing on the top of the bronze gourd-shaped body, with several ancient character carvings on the side. Four holes are carved on the body of the bronze gourd where the bamboo pipes were inserted.
