Membranophone - Struck (Directly) - Double-Headed

Drum shape is conical with slight bulge in the middle. The frame is carved out of a solid log and both ends are covered with goat skin secured by strong leather straps, with handle. Inside are rocks that add to the sound of the drum when played. Collected by Quaker missionaries in Kenya during the 1920's.
