Height: 65 cm; Diameter: 25 cm

Old New Guinea Drum collected along the Ramu River during the 1970s. The handles to the drum are carved with stylized zoomorphic faces. It comes from an Australian collection. The drum head is of Biawak skin (lizard) and is held on by rope, which replaces the original rattan bracelet that is normally used to secure the head.
