This single-head hand drum consists of a narrow wooden frame covered on one side by stretching and nailing a hide. Small "jhyaali" (iron discs) are set into slots of the frame. The "Taamring" is played by beating the drum skin with the hand, shaking or rubbing the skin with the thumb.
