This Higham trombone has an original leather case. In 1860, Higham founded the 1st Manchester Volunteer Battalion Band, according to "Talks with Bandsmen: A Popular Handbook for Brass Instrumentalists" (Rose [1995], 202) A Higham rotary valve cornet can be found in this collection under “Conical Bore – Cornets.”
