While this Ngoma is considered a single headed drum, cowhide covers both ends of the drum with a intricate lacing system. The Baganda people of Uganda are so fond of their drums, they are thought of as children of Ngoma. The ngoma is used for communication and celebration and is also a symbol of authority.
