Addison & Lucas Early Circular Vocal Horn

210 Regent Street, London, England
Western Europe

Brass
ca 1865-1870

Addison & Lucas / 210 Regent St.

This is an early example of a bell-forward vocal horn by Addison & Lucas, 210 Regent Street, West London. The lead-in pipe is the size of the (French) horn. The bore-profile and tubing length is close to that of the Koenig horn and mellophone of six feet six inches of tubing, unlike the (French) horn, which has twelve feet of tubing. It has a smaller 6.5" bell and is classified as a vocal horn, a tenor horn pitched in F.
